Does anyone have any experience with the rubble trench foundation, or seen any books that contain sizeable amounts of info about it? I know what it is and how it works, just would like some more info so I can evaluate it for my house.

Try reading You Can Sculpt Your Own Home by Becky Bee and the other book on building with Cob (can't remember the name right now). Becky's book talks a lot about foundations seeing as how important they are to building with the heavy earth. Anyway, the book talks about using old cement from DEstruction sites (it is probably free rubble) and gravel of different types too and how to place rocks for foundations etc.
