Is there an AME church that has written policies and procedures for the day to day operation of the church that they would be willing to share? I am particularly interested in policies for paid employees, financial dealings, and the pastor. I don't want to "reinvent the wheel" if I don;t have to. In the times that we live in today, they are needed.

Our church just completed a Policy and Procedure manual about a year ago. I am not sure how extensively it goes into the particular areas that you indicated. I would be glad to forward a copy to you.

The best place to get the desired information you need would be Allen Cathedral in Jamaica, NY. Dr. Floyd H. Flake is the Pastor. They have a large staff at the church and they are by far the best model for African Methodism. A few more you may try that may be willing to supply the information are Bridgestreet AME in Brooklyn, NY, Bethel AME Baltimore, Maryland, and St. Phillip in Atlanta, GA. I chose these because of their size and administrative capacity.

Rev. Dr. J. Ruth Travis, pastor of the Evergreen AMEC in Baltimore has developed a manual for her church.

Rev. Quismat Alim, pastor of the Hemingway Temple AMEC in Cherry developed such a manual for the church I now pastor ( Union Chapel AMEC in Cambridge, Md.)
