West Ham forward Paolo Di Canio could be handed an international call-up after all, but not by his beloved Italy. Di Canio has never played for the Italian national team despite his fantastic form in recent years with Celtic, Sheffield Wednesday or West Ham. In the past Italy have tended to favour players plying their trade in their native country, as opposed to those playing abroad. Now it's being rumoured in Europe that the player could finally be called up for his international honours - with San Marino ready to offer him the chance to play in their World Cup campaign.
