But you can't get your kids in school if you don't get the shots...what do you do?

You can get your kids in school, they just want you to think you can't. You can sign the religious exemption or have a note from your doctor exempting your kids from immunizations for health reasons. I've always signed the religious exemption because it's less trouble and I've never had any problems getting my kids into anything.

Unless you live in WV. There is no religious exemption in this state. You have to have a dr signed statement saying that the shots are contra-indicated for your child. I haven't found one doctor yet that will do that unless there is something medically wrong with your child. For normal healthy children, they will not sign a waiver. WV is the ONLY state that has this law. So unless you live in WV, just sign the religious waiver if you don't want your child to get the shots...you should have no prob. getting them into school or sports.

If you have a naturopathic doctor nearby, , see if he/she has homeopathic equivalents (drops) of the vaccinations. Haven't used them for my kids, but my sister-in-law works for an N.D. and the doctor can write a note saying they are the same ,etc.

Some states also allow for a "philosophical" exemption. Basically what that means is that it is against your personal beliefs-- religious or otherwise. There are many good books on this subject as well as several good websites. Also, if you have a problem in your state getting the exemption there are some attorneys who can get it for you.
