WDIV TV reports a Northwest jet was forced to make a return landing at Metro Airport, just minutes after takeoff yesterday. The 747 was headed from Detroit to Tokyo when the pilot reportedly noticed a problem with the landing gear. The jet landed safely back at Metro and all 130 passengers were put on other flights.
