releasing butterflies in cooler weather

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Butterflies : One Thread

We have been raising monarch, swallowtail and painted ladies butterflies all summer and have now got myself in a dilemma. It's now the begining of Sept. and the evening tempatures where I live have been getting down to 40's to 5o's at night and about 68 to 74 degrees during the day. Can I still release the butterflies or should I keep the chrysalis in a cool place or fridg? Any input would be great.
