DALLAS (AP) -- An American Airlines MD-80 made an emergency landing at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport Thursday evening after the pilot shut down one of the plane's two engines. "There was an oil indication problem so the captain shut down the engine, declared an emergency, and landed safely without incident,'' said Elizabeth Ninomiya, a spokeswoman for the Fort-Worth based airline.

Flight 105 bound for Dallas from New York's John F. Kennedy International airport carried 61 passengers and five crew members

Another one at Los Angeles last night, a Canada 3000 flight bound for Calgary, with a similar situation: warning light, emergency landing, ten-hour wait for repairs, then the same airplane took the passengers on their journey. Passengers were grumbling when they finally got home.
