Viable alternative to Kodak "Ektalure" paper?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Printing & Finishing : One Thread

I'd be grateful if anyone could suggest a professional standard, b/w fiber based warm tone paper that selenium tones well. Since kodak discontinued Ektalure, my supplies are diminishing and I'd like to know what is comparable. And not multigrade either- I'm not a big fan. Sincerest thanks in advance if anyone can suggest something.

regards, Tom Higgins.

Agfa Portriga is my choice. Agfa Multicontrast Classic is not bad.

I know you don't like multigrade but if you can't get Agfa Portiga try Kodak Polymax Fine-Art "C" (try developing it in Edwal Platinum) When my Dad who has been a photographer since the 1940's say my prints made on this paper he told me he was surprised that Ektalure was still made.

Kentmere photographic papers in the UK make some of the finest papers I've ever used. They actually put some silver in them!
I don't know if they export worldwide, it's difficult enough to find them here.
Check out: Kentmere fibre base papers
