I used to get a seed catalog which had them. I think it was Yankton, out of Yankton, SC. Not sure though.

Ken: Gurney Seeds is in Yankton, North Dakota. Jungs, in Randolph Wis also has them, among others.

Sadie, you grow them just like regular beets. But they get HUGE, and grow mostly above ground.

I dont know if theyre really efficient feed, but they sure are fun to grow! Jd

I was not intending to grow them as an efficient feed. I want them so I have some "live" feed to use on a daily basis after my fall/winter home stores of pumpkins, apples etc. has run out.

I personally feel it is important to have live feed in the diet for the enzymes, etc. ''

A home store of mangle beets certainly has to be much cheaper than the 25# sacks of carrots I have to start purchasing at the grocery store in the dead of winter.

To me it is certainly worth the try.

Cheers, Sadie
