THANKS TO ALL GICC GUMSHOES AND CONTRIBUTORS

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Grassroots Information Coordination Center (GICC) : One Thread

To Martin, Carl, Rachel and all the rest of the indefatigable e-detectives posting to this peerless board, for myself and on behalf of the many dozens, scores or hundreds of us who NEVER FAIL TO CHECK IN HERE on a daily basis, before we go to browse the forums or relax surfing for internet popcorn -- MANY MANY MANY THANKS. What a great service you continue to provide us. One only needs to scan the headlines at GICC anymore to apprehend at once the TREND OF EVENTS. THANKTS THANKS THANKS. Here's hoping you can keep it up.

Viva la GICC!!

Thanks Squirrel Hunter!

I concur. Kudos are well deserved--all the way around.

-- Uncle Fred (dogboy45@bigfoot.com), September 20, 2000.

I'd like to throw in my thanks.

-- Wellesley (wellesley@freeport.net), September 20, 2000.

I totally agree. Often times I have little time to read everything, but, I feel, just being able to scan the headlines, at least, every day, keeps me on the cutting edge of knowledge of just what that is really important is going on in the world.

This is the service I would miss the most were it ever to become unavailabe.

Ditto from the cannery here. Martin, Carl and Rachel, in the time honored tradition of an Edward R. Murrow, you all deserve a PULITZER for such outstanding reportage 24/7. You save me much time & effort at scrolling thru numerous online wire services. So I can go prepare more spaghetti sauce for my family! I'm deeply indebted to you all. Many of my extended family have also become better informed by my sharing of these not-ready-for-primetime news items. Really shows us how far we have come from the WWII days when the average Joe could fire up the wireless and hear detailed analysis from overseas on troop deployment, battles etc. The "50 mile radius" transistor radio that could "fit in your breast pocket" killed that off. Alas that. We need less high tech gadgets and gizmos with 500 channels of pablum and more of this real time reporting. Blessings to you all. Keep up the excellent work for as long as you can. And fasten your seatbelts

What a wonderful service GICC posters are performing.

By way of thanks and tribute, why not e-mail the GICC URL to members of the media, as well as public officials, political candidates, and those in major roles of responsibility in the public or private sector and let them in on this extraordinary source of information. I would be surprised if any of them had a clipping service that came close to GICC in its timeliness, interest, and value.

Students of all ages who are concerned about the state of the nation and the world will benefit greatly by using GICC as a resource.

Thanks to everyone who is helping GICC flourish.

Thanks all!

-- Carl Jenkins (Somewherepress@aol.com), September 20, 2000.

I appreciate all of your efforts in researching and posting these news articles. I've got the GICC as my home page and always scan the news first. Thanks again! slza

My favorite site. A day rarely goes by without at least one visit. Hope all those who have done such a fine job keeping this going are well rewarded. I would be interested in some kind of hit counter to see how many people frequent this site a week. Better than any news site!!!Kudos

I would also like to say "Thank YOU". I'm now signed up for a budget plan with my natural gas supplier. I was unaware that this plan existed until I read a post by Martin

Thanks for maintaining this great list. You get the stories that the mainstream media often refuses to cover.

Thanks, all. The postings here are interesting, while spider's new board could provide room for more analysis. BTW, don't forget the invaluable work of Dee, Lee, spider, K, Doris, etc. :)
