HMAME = Honest Mame

Heh. I'd hate to use the words "secure" or "honest". As a long-time hacker myself, I know that no program is unhackable. My best hopes for MAME TE (or TEMAME, or whatever it will be called) are that it will be "trusted" for a while. It's a neverending race between lockpicks and locksmiths, between burglars and alarms, etc.

There are several ways of hacking a "secure" program, and I think I've addressed pretty much all of them in the version I'm working on, but I still won't consider it secure.

"Tournament Edition" may not be the best name, but it doesn't even have to be an acronym. It can just be some "catchy" name, preferably, at least where I'm concerned" with "MAME" somewhere in it.

And, no, I don't want to call it anything "TG" related, because I don't have anything to do with TG, and because of my bad experiences with something that was TG related. Now, I know that TG is not directly to blame for my bad experiences, but I still think they should have stepped in sooner (if they ever stepped in, that is) and told people to stop it.

"tournament" may be a bit too little in describing what it is meant for, so what about something with "competition"? Or what about simply some "nice" name that has "MAME" in it somewhere?

Cheers, Ben Jos.

Secure i can agree with not using. But Honest seems like a good word to use, it will not be hack proof, but it will be supremely resistant, And since most of the people who use are NOT hackers (i'm assuming), then most people will know it to be the mame that won't lie when reporting .inp information. Honest mame.

I think Tournament Edition is not a good name for it if we are going to use it for regular marp.

To clarify, my suggestion of TMAME stands for Tournament MAME which is short and simpler than Tournament Edition MAME (TEMAME). I hate the word edition associated with S/W, since I loate MS products and they name everything 'xx or xE (e.g. Windows Me)

Competition Mame is more encompasing than Tournament Mame.
