Collymore sacked by Leicester

Sky Sports.com TV understands that Stan Collymore has been sacked by Leicester City.

Collymore, who signed for Leicester from Aston Villa in February, has started just 5 games for the Foxes this season.

The former England striker was believed to be seeking an extension to his current contract, which runs out at the end of this season.

However, it is believed that Collymore was told at training this morning that his services were no longer required and his contract had been terminated.

The striker's reputation took another knock after it was alleged that he stamped on Paul Gascoigne during Villa's clash with Everton on Sunday.

The FA said they would review the incident on video before coming to any decision.

Collymore has handed two transfer requests in in the last two weeks and Leicester have arranged to cancel his contract with the players agreement.

Will he ever play for anyone? He's had all sorts of managers and he has conflicted with all. It's been said before but he is a waste of an immense talent. I can't see any sane manager taking him on now. Some people say he is an intelligent lad but how can he be acting like this.

Unless he's been tapped up by another club....he did look slightly impressive in his first game against the mackems....

According to Onefootball.com Collymore has had one offer from a French club and one form a London club. He said he always intended to leave Leicester at the end of the season and finish his career abroad.

I only hope he hasn't signed for Leyton Orient for tonight's match! Maybe it's Wimbledon! Hartson and Collymore, drinking their way to the 1st Div title in brawl after brawl!!

Isn't Stan Collymore a generic 'Boro signing. I bet Robbos already reaching for Steve Gibsons chequebook.

Me daughter's lad reports from darkest Leicestershire that the local rag, The Leicester Mercury, has Collymore announcing that he wants to move to the NE and that YBR is interested.

Nay, I say thrice, nay

I'm sure YBR is very interested, what with Cort getting another injury this evening. Like Bobby, I'd love Stan to come to the NE. It would be great if he joined the Mackems and we bought Super Kev. But please, put the guards on the Tyne Tunnel and all the bridges. If he makes any attempt to cross the river, shoot the b@st@rd.
