Spoilers Re: Kerry

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

alright no one is going to believe me on this one. a couple weeks ago when i was standing in line at the grocery store i was flipping through a magazine. i think it may have been US magazine (has michael douglas and catherine z.j. on the cover...)or maybe entertainment weekly...i think it was US... and there was a blurb saying that the producers are going to introduce a lesbian plot for kerry's character. the blurb was very serious and hinted that it would take place early in the season. anyone else seen this? i meant to post it a couple weeks ago.

I think those threads were deleted. But this has been posted a few times in the past week. I posted the one from US magazine a week ago and it was deleted this past weekend.

...and the mutant starfish sprouts another arm. Really amazing.

I really have to laugh...

Tokyo is decimated! The monster keeps regenerating! Whatever shall we do?...

-- Cecelia (evilstoat@hotmail.com), September 27, 2000.

This is too funny. It's like the Energizer Bunny. It keeps going, and going, and going...

-- Cammie (rmaelhorn@home.com), September 27, 2000.

You've got to be kidding? ;) ROFL! Just teasing, Rye H, I was out of town last week and barely caught the other threads myself. They were long, and um, interesting.

-- Diana (dilynne@juno.com), September 28, 2000.

It took me a few days to think of it, and meanwhile the starfish has got Okinawa, but maybe we should call....Ultraman!

-- S. Trelles (trelles@ix.netcom.com), October 03, 2000.

Naaah...For sheer power, you can't beat the Power Rangers. Except for Godzilla, and he hasn't seen fit to stomp on the starfish lately. Mike must be feeling indulgent this week.

-- Cecelia (evilstoat@hotmail.com), October 04, 2000.

Or maybe he's finding this one as amusing as the rest of us...

I'm a little surprised (and very pleased!) you know who Ultraman is, actually. I thought he was a little obscure and that I was showing my age!

-- S. Trelles (trelles@ix.netcom.com), October 04, 2000.

I still say this topic is like the Energizer bunny. I haven't seen those commercials lately but nothing can stop it. It's like thid topic. It keeps going, and going, and going, and going, and, well you get the picture.

-- Cammie (rmaelhorn@home.com), October 04, 2000.

One of my nephews was really into Ultraman a few years ago. He's very much into Godzilla (the big lizard, not the Moderator) and all manner of Japanese monster shows and movies. I must confess, I don't even know how old Ultraman is, but I watched it on video with my nephew whenever I was over there.

*shrug* I still think, if we want to save the Pacific Rim from Carno- Starfish, we need to fight monster with monster and call Godzilla. Failing that, there's strength in numbers, so the Power Rangers would be #2 on my speed dial.

LOL! Thank you Andie for some humor. I've been crying off and on ever since the beginning of "All In The Family" which aired tonight on TNT. I needed a little cheering up. Thanks! Lucy was my favorite character, that's why it's still so hard to watch that episode. I thought I'd be okay this time watching it and I wasn't.

-- Cammie (rmaelhorn@home.com), October 04, 2000.

Um, I didn't cry. But then, I'm a cold, heartless...you know ;^D

-- Phyl (erfan@flash.net), October 05, 2000.

Ah, but did you cry when Carol went to Doug in SSS?? ;-) (I *know* you're a D & C fan, Phyl.)

For the record, I didn't cry at either scene. Just jumped up and down and hollered.

-- S. Trelles (trelles@ix.netcom.com), October 05, 2000.

I didn't cry either. I guess I'm just mean and nasty...

-- Cecelia (evilstoat@hotmail.com), October 05, 2000.

Well of course not everyone was going to cry. Not alot of people liked Lucy. I'm one of a few that did like her and cried when she died. Now if they killed Cleo I wouldn't cry at all. In fact I would be happy. Sorry if I offended any Cleo fans out there. Of course I haven't heard of there being any Cleo fans out there.:)

-- Cammie (rmaelhorn@home.com), October 05, 2000.

I hated Lucy, but I cried. Not because Lucy died, but because of people's reactions to her dying. I cried because of Elizabeth's desperation as she shocked her heart over and over. I cried because of Romano's sudden outburst. I cried because of the look on Kerry's face after she found out. I sobbed through half the episode, but not because of Lucy.

-- JLS (ewwhatevr@aol.com), October 05, 2000.

This is OT, but this whole post has been OT. Is anyone else having problems getting onto the WB Message Boards and posting? I have been having problems getting on that site and posting since yesterday.

-- Cammie (rmaelhorn@home.com), October 05, 2000.

S. Trelles, no I didn't cry when she went back to Doug. I *know* something made me cry this season, but darned if I can remember what it was. I could read through the reviews, but I don't wanna. It was probably something to do with Benton. His scene at the end of "The Gift" has been the only thing I can recall on ER that made me cry.

When Carol went to Doug, I was grinning. Still am :)

-- Phyl (erfan@flash.net), October 06, 2000.

Maybe the two kids (a little boy and his younger sister) who lost their parents in a car accident, Phyl? That part was very emotional for me. I can still remember their sweet little faces and the little girl running to Haleh and the little boy touching his mother, putting his hear on her chest and saying Momma as the scene ended. I even remember the coat the little girl was wearing.

-- Diana (dilynne@juno.com), October 06, 2000.

Diana - me too! I bawled my eyes out during that scene. It was one of the saddest ones ever on ER IMO!

-- amanda (amanda.rehm@home.com), October 06, 2000.

I cried too at that scene. That was so sad. I was crying my eyes out in "Be Patient" when Lucy's mom was cleaning out Lucy's locker. That was so sad watching her do that. I'm sorry but ER should have won for best drama. I mean did The West Wing make anybody cry for three episodes in a row like that? Not IMO.

-- Cammie (rmaelhorn@home.com), October 06, 2000.

Phyl, perhaps you cried in Benton's last scene in Peace of Wild Things, where he is explaining to Carla why he won't test Reese to see if he is really his father. Eriq was fabulous in that! :)

Mary

-- Mary (mimiwannabe@discocow.com), October 06, 2000.

I cried when Carter said, "Dr. Benton, I'm pregnant." That, for me, was ER. That scene moved me like no other ever has, before or since. The look on his face, and on Benton's...*sniffle*

-- Cecelia (evilstoat@hotmail.com), October 06, 2000.

Cecelia, I hope your kidding! ;)

-- Mary (mimiwannabe@discocow.com), October 06, 2000.

Are you serious Cecelia?:) You cried during that? That was a funny scene. Not a sad one.

-- Cammie (rmaelhorn@home.com), October 06, 2000.

Sigh...

-- Cecelia (evilstoat@hotmail.com), October 06, 2000.

Mary, I think you're right. I know I was quite touched by that scene, and it made an immense impact on me. Darn that Peter Benton ;^D

-- Phyl (erfan@flash.net), October 07, 2000.

Yeah, that Peter always gets you where you live and when you're inured to him and are least expecting it.

I think I mentioned this, but since we are baring our souls... I cried when Mark and his Dad were looking at old slides and "Bookends" started playing.

-- S. Trelles (trelles@ix.netcom.com), October 09, 2000.

I'm crying because all these tears have moved mine. So, what's up with the "mutant starfish?" Is this a reference to the ever evolving soap opera motif?

By the way, I'm still crying about Lucy getting stabbed, and I'll be damned if I didn't see the subsequent episode where she and Carter are discovered by Kerry. Thank God for TNT. Saw it today while home sick and I see that Lucy is still alive--It's the one where she helps Malluci diagnose a boy with a tumor around his heart. I'll have to tape the daily repeat shows while I'm at work from here on out...all Lucy all the time...
