Response to Is there any punishment after having an adultry?

Dear Amran, This is just a little Catholic forum, where ordinary Catholics (and non-Catholics sometimes) talk about things that are dear to us. We try to help one another. This not a direct route to the Holy Father. But we can all pray for you, and try to reassure you that like you, we all need to struggle to resist temptation (in whatever way it comes to us) and like you, we all are sure that we are sinners. But we are also sure that Jesus came for the sick and not for the well. Knowing that you are sick is the first and most beautiful step to begging for His mercy, the same as the rest of us need to do all the time. You can always repent and start a new life. Go to confession and be forgiven. It's a beautiful thing, to hear those words of absolution and to feel the healing touch of Christ Himself through that priest (who is also a poor sinner just like you and me). If you are anything like me, being absolved don't mean that you will not sin again. Sometimes very quickly. But we just need to keep going back like little children to a loving Father, and little by little, He will transform us. Really. It takes time. Lots of time sometimes. But that's OK. He loves you, and you are sorry, and that's all that matters.

Love, Jane
