Has anything earth-shattering (or just plain old neat) happened to you since October 1, 1999?

Rigel and I sold some stuff at a flea market. I visited the Crayola Factory and the Insectarium. I took a different way home from work one day, not realizing then that those same country backroads will become part of my daily commute once Rigel and I move to Leesburg. I saw the movie American Beauty and went hiking with my friend Kurt one last time before he moved to Albuquerque. Survived Y2K with no problem. Got boinked. Bought a new 800 MHz computer. Explored the crumbling ruins of King's College (NOOOOO!) and found an old letter from 1926 under the floorboards. Went on a 42-mile bike tour in New York City. Hiked up Mt. Beacon and looked at the remains of an abandoned incline railway. Got mentioned in WCOTP. Attended AnthroCon 2000. Started townhouse shopping with Rigel. Someone found one of the bills I had registered on The Great American Dollar Bill Tracker.

Most of the really neat events seem to have happened recently. I got a new job, with a serious pay raise (I start next week). My micro press published its first a book about the same time I attended Chicon, the 58th Annual World Science Fiction Convention. I bought a car--the first new car I've ever owned. Y2K wasn't much of a deal, although I do recall getting incredibly drunk at the LAFF New Year's Party, and suffering my first-ever Horrible Hangover (bad Jim...beer before liquor never sicker....). Oh, yeah, I published my first fanzine back in January. I think a certain journal writer appeared in it. :)

I remember that... Heh. You were Quite Drunk as I recall. =)

*grin* I might even get off my duff and send you something for the second run... Argh. Maybe. You want a fun little story about a dragon moving to polar bear country?
(...hm, that's got possibilities...)

I got more intoxicated as the evening wore on. I seem to remember you and the Plonqster disappearing to hide out with Duncan. I haven't been that drunk since. A good thing. ;)

MT 2 is pretty full. Submissions technically closed Saturday, and I have a few stories to read through, yet. If I end up rejecting some of them, you're now first on my list of people to bug. :)

Let's see:

1. My company got bought out by a much bigger company. I'm not exactly thrilled by that, but the 'please don't quit' bonuses are at least keeping me with them for now.

2. I got engaged

3. My fiance moved in with me

4. They break ground on our house in less than 3 weeks (we bought the land in May, got the plans the next month, etc.)

I'm not sure I can handle much more. It's been a busy year. Eek.
