October 2nd SPANISH TRUCKERS KEEP UP FUEL PROTESTS

Spanish truck drivers have begun a new three-day strike in protest over fuel prices. By blocking major roads in the north and east of Spain, truckers have caused long tailbacks and border delays. At one crossing a four-mile line of vehicles waited to go through.

In Valencia, hundreds of trucks blocked the motorway in both directions.

The Spanish government is continuing negotiations with the truckers to try and agree some measures to compensate for higher transport costs as a result of fuel price rises.
