Greek truckers end eight-day fuel strike

ATHENS, Oct 4 (Reuters) - Greek truckers
returned to work on Wednesday after an eight-
day strike mainly against rising fuel costs
as Greece's development ministry prepared to
announce lower petrol prices.

Sicily Under Pressure From Truck Drivers' Strike

ROME (Reuters) - Rubbish collection and
public transport in Sicily could grind
to a halt within days if a truck drivers'
protest against high fuel costs is not
called off, local authorities warned on
Tuesday.

Groups of truck drivers have blocked roads
across the island as well as ports and oil
refineries for the last couple of days, copying
strikes which hit countries across Europe last
month.

Union says expects strike at Angloplat refineries

JOHANNESBURG, Oct 4 (Reuters) - The union
representing striking workers at world number
one platinum producer Anglo American Platinum
(Angloplat) said it expected the 15-day strike
to spread to the firm's refineries on Wednesday.
