Harvest Kitchen Plans

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I recently received "Storey's Basic Country Skills" as a gift. On pg. 383 they have a small floorplan and a drawing of a "Harvest Kitchen" which they say comes from the book "The Have-More Plan" by Ed and Carolyn Robinson. The idea intrigued me but I was having trouble making heads or tails of the small floorplan drawing, so I went ahead and ordered the Have-More book in hopes of getting more information. The book arrived today, and none of the info that was in the Basic Country Skills book is in it! No kitchen floorplans at all, just some exterior photos of their house. I'm really disappointed. Does anyone have any idea what I did wrong? Is there another edition of "The Have-More Plan" that has the kitchen floorplans, or is there another book that would have this information? I'm gathering ideas for my big move out of the city within the next 5 years or so. Thanks, Sherri in IN

Look on page 9 at the house plans. Its a pretty basic U or L shaped kitchen, however the print is so small it's hard to make out the details.

Sherri, Somewhere around 1985 or so, I oredered the plans for the Harvest Kitchen direct from Storey Books. In those days they had done a reprint of some of the original plans directly related to the Have MOre Plan. Somwhere in a move across state several years later,I lost the plans. I have never contacted the publisher to find out if it is still available. It was kind-of disappointing in a way to find out in the text along with the Harvest Kitchen plans that the Robinsons' had moved to a larger place and then divorced a while after the original Have More plan was published! Good luck in your search! Lynn
