LONDON, Oct 26 (Reuters) - People who paid too
much tax will not be identified by Britain's
tax authority and the onus is on them to claim
for repayments, the Inland Revenue said on
Thursday.Following a computer glitch, tax records from
1997-8 for over one million people are missing
essential data. As a result, the Inland Revenue
will not be able to identify overpayments or
underpayments made under PAYE schemes.``We are looking at about a million cases,'' a
spokeswoman for the Revenue told Reuters.AltaVista Live
