What gives with the board?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Grassroots Information Coordination Center (GICC) : One Thread

For a 7-10 days or so, I have been unable to access this board about 90% of the time. When I can get "thru", I see the volume of posts is GREATLY reduced -- sooooo -- that indicates to me that this is not just a problem I am having. Any clues as to what is going on and -- if there is a problem -- when it will go away. Thanks -- JB

I too have had problems, but have been able to get around it most of the time by having some pages bookmarked, then clicking on the gicc header on the bookmarked page. Also using multiple bookmarks both on and off the hard drive has helped.

When I get though I will use the open in a new window all of the articles that intrest me. Using the right mouse button [netscrape].

I think that the main posters, Martin, Spider, Dee, Carl, Rachel and forgive me for not remembering anyone else who's done major posting are feeling a bit lonely. I hope they do not think that there efforts are not apprectiated -- THEY ARE VERY MUCH INDEED appreciated!

This is where I come to get the truth.

I likewise have been experiencing a problem getting the board to open. Maybe Martin can help out

I believe that some of the problem is Greenspun upgrading the board. I have been able to get on most of the time but have also had some problems posting. I will contact the webmaster to see what is going on, but these people are wellknown for there lack of responses to queries. As I am sure you have noticed the Greenspun messages at the bottom of the post, that is one of the reasons the board was shut down several times to add that in. It is on all the Greenspun boards now.

Yeah, I'm having trouble getting in, too. Think the footers may be at least part of the problem.

The board seems to be working better this evening. Maybe complaining does help. Hope it stays that way.

I've had no difficulties getting on through bookmark.

My problem lately is diversion--the election. Have been spending much time perusing the political message boards. I'll be back, every day, from November 8 on.

I had problems too. Finally entered by going to greenspun.com and choosing the board from there.

I did write to complain about the "billboards" or whatever they're called. Got a response saying he thought he had eliminated them from the board - but here they still are. Oh well.

I echo the praise for the regular posters. I appreciate your efforts more than I can possibly express.
