Koeman's advice to Winter:"Retire!" Wow!!!About time!!! I'm sure that Winter was thinking about retiring last season, but since he got a place in Ajax he thought that he could play.In reality i wouldn't even want him as a teammate in 5x5 football.

A lot of respect about Aron, but it's bad for him to keep on playing since it is obvious that he can't.

Many great players have known when it is their time to leave the big stage. Its when you have hemeroids, frequently have lots of groin strains and start taking notice of Pele's erection commercials. Aron Mohammed Winter is a great role model for every one, but as my Opa said "Get him off the team, his too old!". Its time too gracefully step down as the champion that he is. Dont embarrass yourself. It will only give soccer analysts a lasting memory of what isnt that great Aron Mohammed Winter that led Inter Milan to the Uefa Cup. Here is a poem dedicted to Aron Mohammed Winter: He wore oranje He wore blue He wore black He was never slack Like a lych in midfield Sucking the life out of the oposition Always a friendly fellow Graceful in his mellow Then he returned For us to see again His last harrah sirrah, sirrah, sirrah!

Hey, I did not know this...

At this very moment, Aron Winter is playing a game in Yverdon, Switzerland, with an FIFA All-Star Team, against a Swiss All-Star Team. Ronald Koeman gave Winter permission to leave Ajax' training camp for this match, which is the reason why Winter was missing in yesterday's friendly game at AGOVV (match report to appear on the Ajax USA homepage in a few hours!).

The FIFA All-Star Team consists of players such as Lothar Matthäus, Giuseppe Bergomi, Hansi Müller, Georghe Hagi, Jean-Pierre Papin and Georges Weah. Mostly players who performed during the 1994 World Cup (U.S.A.) and the Euro 96 (England). Some names in the team of Swiss veterans: Chapuisat, Hottiger, Sforza and Türkyilmaz.

Kind of ironic, I must say... Aron Winter in a FIFA All-Star Team full of old farts. Almost all of them have ended their careers... Hint, hint, hint...

Before the Studio Sport camera's Winter stated yesterday that he remains an Ajacied all his life and that he still wants to end his carreer at Ajax. He confirmed the reporter's question that this only will happen if Adriaanse leaves Ajax...

Apart from that he thanked general manager Van Eijden and technical manager Beenhakker for their efforts in order to get him at Sparta. Between the lines you could read that he meant that Sparta wasn't able to pay enough money for the loan, but that Ajax still wanted to give him this opportunity. I think that Ajax is still paying his huge salary and that Sparta pays just very little to Ajax.

And I also think that Winter counts on the possibility that Adriaanse won't survive this season so that he can return at Ajax very soon (together with Frank Rijkaard???)

Surinam is in South America. It is also known as Dutch Guyana. SO what you are saying is that without the Surinamese players, Holland will be screwed. I don't get the point. As a matter of fact I think you are being racist against the whites. I don't think that there were a lot of Surinamese players in 74 & 78. Well all I'm saying is that you can't judge anyone by their color. You can't say that b'cos someone is black, brown or white he has to be either good or bad.

LOOK ITS PLAIN AND SIMPLE ARON WINTER IS THE BEST PLAYER FOR HOLLAND EVER. I LOVE HIM, ARON AND THE OTHER ASIAN FOOTBALLERS ARE THE BEST, I ALSO LOVE G. VAN BRONKHORST. WITH OUT THE COLOURED PALYERS IN THE TEAM HOLLAND WOULD BE FUCKED... PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

ARON WINTER RULES. Co moet niet lullen...

No not Grim, but Galasek. Actually Witschge and Knopper were the substitutes to be captain, but Witschge isn't playing either (regularly) and Knopper is injured.

Just asking if Winter is off the first eleven.. Who is the captain of Ajax now? Grim?

It seems like Aron Winter is f**ked... He was left out of the team on Sunday (so was Witschge). Adriaanse said: "At this moment, an Ajax team without Aron Winter is better than a team with Aron Winter." Some of the youngsters have really taken their chances (Pasanen, Van der Vaart, Van der Gun), so I think the future looks bad for both Winter and Witschge. Pity for them, but that's how it goes. As a football player in your thirties, you should know that you can play until a youngster shows up who can do it better. It's a natural process, with all due respect for Winter. He's not one of the eleven best players anymore - simple as that.
