ROME, Nov 4 (AFP) -
The director-general of Omnitel, the Italian mobile phone subsidiary of Vodafone AirTouch of Britain, was killed Saturday when the light plane he was piloting crashed near Turin in northern Italy, the ANSA news agency reported. Paolo Galli had hired the plane, a small Piper, from a friend. The plane crahed into hills near Turin, and police were not able to give an immediate explanation for the crash.
Omnitel is Italy's second mobile telephone service provider and has some 12.5 million clients.
