Kristina: I don't think you will find an exact date for the canonization of St. Nicholas of Myra (or of Bari)In the Early Church did not exist a long and detailed process of canonization as the one we now know. Usually only Martyrs were considered saints. The faithful collected their bodies and relics, altars were erected near their tombs, The Mass was celebrated near their tombs... The practice of considering someone a saint eventually extended to others who had not suffered martyrdom. It was the public and unanimous acceptance of the faithful what made someone to be considered a saint, as long as the authorities of the Church did not oppose such practice. The long process of canonization appears little by little in the following centuries.Enrique
