Hi Boogie,

How are you my favorite goalkeeper???? Iam fine i just would like to say to you thank you very much that you take the bother to take a picture with me last saterday at the practice in the snow. Iam still warming myself up but hopefully you can warm me up again when i visit you on monday's practice haha .... only kidding. Happy Birthday, Bogdan for sunday! I just watched the game in Faro, Portugal against VfL Wolfsburg (1-0) and I was very glad to see him back on the field. He did a great job as a goalkeeper and as the captain of the team for this match. During the 90 minutes I heard him shouting and giving directions to his team mates. He's a rel leader and he was the engine of this match. Welcome back, Bogdan!

Worrying, worrying news... This is from Ajax.nl.

"Bogdan Lobont's shoulder injury is worrying. The shoulder will be examined thoroughly on Friday, as an MRI scan (is such a scan also called an MRI scan in English...?) will be made at an Amsterdam hospital. Lobont will certainly not play this weekend, during the Amsterdam Tournament.

Lobont walked off the training pitch on Wednesday morning. At that point, goalkeepers coach Will Coort thought the injury was nothing serious. Nevertheless, it will be checked on Friday.

Ajax first two goalkeepers are now injured, which means Maarten Stekelenburg is the only goalkeeper in the squad at this moment. Joey Didulica sustained a serious ankle injury earlier this preparation campaign. Robert Zwinkels, Young Ajax' youthful goalkeeper, will be on the Ajax bench this weekend.

If Lobont's injury turns out to be serious, Ajax considers signing an extra goalkeeper."

We (Ajax USA) will wait for the result of the scans and publish a report on the homepage once we know more about the situation... One thing's for sure: it doesn't sound good.

Read this on Ajax Netwerk:

"Romanian sports magazine Prosport reports that Dinamo Bucharest want to keep Bogdan Lobont. The goalkeeper, who has a contract with Ajax and is due back in Amsterdam on 03 July, won the Romanian championship with Dinamo and came close to winning the 'double'. However, Rapid Bucharest proved too strong in the cup final.

According to Prosport, representatives of Dinamo and Lobont's (and Cristian Chivu's) personal manager Becali will soon discuss the possibilities with Ajax. In addition to the news, the Romanian newspaper mentions the often heard rumors that Ajax would like to get Edwin van der Sar to move back to Amsterdam."

I was really scared the other day when Bogdan got injured during the match Dinamo-Ceahlau. I'm thankful that he got up and is O.K.I'm waiting for the next match on Sunday. It will be a difficult game but I trust that Lobby will prove (again) that he is the best. I would like to meet him so much! I loved the way he threw the ball at his team mate when he didn't do his job. Could there be a chance that Bogdan reads this? Ajax Netwerk reports that Lobont has made an excellent impression in his debut game for Dynamo Bucharest: "The Romanian, who moved from Rapid Bucharest to ajax in 1999, secured a point for his side against Astra Ploiesti (1-1) with some fine goalkeeping. Astra was the better team throughout the game, but the only time they succeeded in beating Lobont was in the 2nd minute, as Barsan scored from a penalty. Nastase equalized for Dynamo in the last minute of the game."

Yeah, sure, Grim is crap according to all of you? Well, I hate to tell you this, and quite frankly I'm actually surprised I'd ever defend him since I kinda disliked his occasional blunders and just couldn't help but yell "LOBONT!" every time Ajax got scored against, but.. You obviously haven't seem him play the last couple of matches. He made brilliant saves and and managed to keep Ajax in the game for about the last 5 matches or so. Even though he might be a pretty old player compared to the Ajax 1st team squad, I think he was and still is a great player, no matter what people say. He does have great potential, unfortunately he doesn't have too much time left to prove his worth, but at least he's trying and doing a great job if you ask me.

The shoulder injury mess kind of sums up Bogdan Lobont's season.Disappointing to player, management, and supporters alike.At least he didn't do a Rio Ferdinand and suffer the injury watching television.Will someone in the know kindly 'splain me something:How can a man be good enough to play for a nation with a soccer tradition as good as Romania yet not beat out a career back-up? Is it injury woes? The players training regimen? I am clueless(though some would say this is normal for me).At any rate,I hope the surgery will help see our future keeper back and better than ever in two months time.

lobont is extremely quick, he is not a big keeper, and somtimes will make unconventional saves, but his raw pyshical ability is execellent. i saw him play in the summer of 99' against FCM Bacau when he was on Rapid, the game was a 0-0 draw, he made an incredibly save in injury time to keep it at nil.
