Do you have friends you consider to be family?

Wow...Mikey...what you said really hit close to home. It's funny. I get into the same argument with one of my friends here all of the time. Once we didn't speak to each other for a few days over it. That's how strongly I feel about this. The argument was that no matter what, my friendships from home will slowly diminish. NO ONE HERE UNDERSTANDS!!! The more I talk to people, the more I realize that our group of friends has such a special bond that is completely unexplainable. We could not see each other for a year, and as soon as we are all back together at the Bee's or Uno's, or hanging in Tams basement...everything is always the same. My friends from home are and always will be my family. There is no one like any of you, anywhere in the world. And it's simply amazing that I have been lucky enough to find the greatest people in the world...and I am even luckier to be able to call them my own. xoxo

Yep. My friend Alvie. We've been best friends since we were 10 years old. He's more like a brother to me than my own brothers! We can (and do) talk about anything and everything. There is nothing we do not know about each other. He's straight, but was the first person to know I'm not. He figured it out about the same time I did! I'd never "do anything" with him, though... be too much like incest! I love him to death (most of the time) and could not imagine my life without him.

As total cheese as it sounds...the Center fostered so. many. family type friendships in my life, and in the lives of so many people we know. I mean...I know that everyone's high school experiences made a big difference...but how else can you explain friendships like me and you, Mike? (Brooke!! How the heck are you???) And so many others, so many of us of different ages and sexual persuasions and races and sexes and on and on. If for nothing else, I will always be grateful for the family of friends the Center helped me to find.

And then there's that whole RENT thing. :-)
