Am I dumb or what??? Florida Recount

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Several Florida counties are currently doing manually, what I expect it would take the card counter machines to do in about an hour. In a single column on the card there are three possibilities: A single clear punchout, which is not being challenged. A double punchout, which is not being challenged. A hanging tab, which the machine didn't read as a vote, which is being challenged. Simple: program the machine to only read that column and spit out those in which no vote for president was recorded. Examine those. Duhhhhh!

Ken, Could be your like me, not a Democrat. Wasn't it a Democratic admin. that backed "new math" a couple decades back?

I don't understand why yet another recount of any kind could be justified. There was no voting machine failure. I agree with Ken - this is not the best way to do it.

Went to the refreigator and opened the door, looked in ,3 bottles of Beer, later went back looked in again still 3 bottles of BEER, gee went back two hours later and still only 3 BOTTLES OF BEER, I am hoping to see it to turn into a SIX PACK. Just like algore is hoping the recount will increase.

Ken how can they do it right they would end up with the same results which is not what they want. But even though I don't like the idea of the manual count I just can't understand that you only recount the counties that you are sure that voted democrats. If we do find that the courts require the recounts they need to recount all of florida not just selected counties. gail

When they are using four criteria and three of them call for throwing out Bush votes and one calls for adding Gore votes there isn't much in the way of guesswork as to who will eventually come out the winner. It sure isn't the rule of law.

I agree with everyone. "This recount until Gore wins" is the most unfair thing that I could ever imagine. I don't know if I've met anyone who agrees with it. I often wonder if anyone is in favor of it and what their side of the story is. Are they just going with it because they've always been Democrats or is there some honest reasoning behind it?. Has anyone ever heard anything good about the Demorat's actions in Flordia?? Eagle

Hey Eagle, we're all over on the Political Chat threads. C'mon over.

No! Your not dumb Ken..Nor are many Democrats who have left the Dem's camp but never changed their registration. I am one you will! What I see is the Gore/Daley, (Daley of Cook County, the most corrupt machine in modern history!) refusing to accept facts, that the most informed voters in Flordia have cast their option of and versions of, None Of The Above Vote. Most All these votes are the ones which Gore/Daley are trying to coerce the courts into acceptance and throw those ballots as Gore for President votes. Bad call! And if I had vote for Gore, I would not support his kicking and screaming to the OUTHOUSE, because he could not carry his home state! And that is my opinion. JR
