Alternative Cancer Treatments - "Must Read" (Misc.)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Thanks to Earthmama and Cathy I have been reading up on alternative methods to cancer treatment. BOY!, have my eyes been opened!!! not only to the possible treatments but also to the persecution by the American Cancer Society. I used to support their efforts at cancer research but not any more.

No one in my family has cancer but it is important to investigate things before the trama of diagnosis. I used to feel afraid about cancer AND its standard treatment, but not anymore. Knowledge is so empowering.

I recommend everyone reading OPTIONS: THE ALTERNATIVE CANCER THERAPY BOOK (or a book like it). It list 29 options that can be used individually or in conjunction with other therapies. WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW CAN KILL YOU!

I only read two chapters of that book before I was outraged at the politics and power of the cancer industry. People are dying and the establishment won't even acknowledge or even investigate some reliable therapies. I can't even find words for how I feel about this!!!!!!!!!

So everyone run to your nearest libary and look under Subject: Cancer - Treatment - alternative.

Vaughn, all I can say is "Thanks for keeping an open mind". When Renee first posted about her neighbor with breast cancer, I was so sad. I was afraid to mention alternative therapies, afraid to offend anyone, as all Renee asked from us was prayers. I spoke to a very close friend, and told her that I was so tired of trying to get people to see past our standard cancer treatments, and that I was ready to give up. It had become too hard. I wanted to run away, stop trying to spread the information that our money-hungry government/medical establishment wants to keep from us. I really wanted to throw my hands in the air and say "I can't make a difference, why even try". Thank you, Earthmama, thank you, Vaughn. (Another great book is "Reclaiming Our Health" by John Robbins, actually all his books have to power to change your life.)

Cancer money is BIG business. Our FDA, which is suposed to protect us also limits our access to therapies that are proven in other countries. They also protect us from bad drugs. What is the lesser of two evils? When we are faced with a life limiting illness, we will ry anything. Just remember, if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

It is my opinion that the FDA does little to "protect us from bad drugs". They do plenty to keep us from choosing the kind of therapies we would like to try, and approve thousands of toxic chemicals for use by the medical establishment, almost all of which have serious long and short-term side effects.

Did I miss another thread somewhere about this? If so, I would be interested in it.

This is just my opinion, and I'll admit it walks hand-in-hand with my spirituality; but I believe that man was formed from the very organic matter of the earth...and in being that organic being; our "medicine" would come from the earth as well. I believe alot of our maladies come from the fact that we have abandoned that "symbiosis" of living closely, simply to the earth, that so much of our foods are not really foods at all; but overprocessed chemicals. That many of our diseases are environmental in nature and make-up. From the air that we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, and the very ground on which it is grown. We are a toxic people living on a toxic planet!!!! Now here comes my conspiratorial nature....:) I also firmly believe that whole communities, cities, etc. are dependant upon the revenues from: medical universities, hospitals, clinics, long term care for elderly, disease research, pharmaceutical corps., insurance companies, malpractice lawyers, etc. etc.etc. Do these people want folks taking charge, getting educated, being responsible for their own health and well being??? No!!!!

Beth, I totally agree with you. I am doing everything I can think of to eliminate chemicals from our lives. I think if we can do that, we will have half of the battle won.

Do a web search for "Cancer rife technology" and check out Barry Lynes book, "The Cancer Cure That Worked: Fifty Years of Suppression. Very revealing

Does anyone have any experience with Eissac formula for cancer?

-- Julie Froelich (firefly1@nnex.net), November 23, 2000.

As I mentioned once before, I sell an essiac product, so I deal with people almost daily who are cancer sufferers. I have seen it work hundreds of times, has no side effects, and when it hasn't been successful (they usually come to me after the doctors have already ruined their natural immunities), it very often is a wonderful pain reliever. I hear from relatives often who thank me for providing this natural herbal recipe because of how it relieved the suffering of their loved one during their last days. Of course I can make no actual claims of cures or healing, or the FDA can shut me down. Wouldnt want to interfere with the incredibly profitable cancer industry. It really is very gratifying to offer help to people in such a tangible way.

I came upon alternatives quite accidently. I had never known anything about herbs, but had just read some small herb article when my cat's blood test diagnosed feline leukemia. He was skinny as a rail, chunks of hair falling out, lethargic. With the diagnosis, the vet recommended putting him down, since the treatment was quite costly and usually didn't work. I took the cat home and gave him Pau d'Arco. I don't use canned foods, but purchased some small cans. I opened the capsuls and mixed the powder in with a bit of the feed. In 2 weeks, the cat had gained 1/4 pound, the hair was growing back in the bald areas, and he was running around like his old self. The cat continued to improve and lived several more years until bitten by a bark scorpian.

I was advised by some folks to also take Pau d'Arco as a preventative since I come from a cancer family. I know the herb works on the immune system, but was quite shocked when 30 years of excruciating back pain was gone.

I have since seen so many folks go into remission with this herb. Some of them had already had cancerous parts removed from their bodies and the cancer returned. Some don't tell their doctors that their using the herb, and the docs are scratching their heads wondering where the tumors went!

I have seen the same results on friend's dogs....and the vets, just like mine, are scratching their heads!

I pay $4.96 for 100 capsuls, 500 mg. each.

Thank you Rogo, for your beautiful testimonial to another member of Nature's Pharmacy!! I know Pau d'Arco is a powerful blood purifier; I hadnt heard of it being used alone as a remedy for cancer, and have never heard of it as a pain reliever; this is so great! will do some research. I believe many natural methods cure cancer, but one mistake people make in their panic is trying everything under the sun. I think its important to tune into ones intuition to find what just feels right to them , to truly believe in it, and stick to it. Different herbs work in different ways, and taking a mish mash of various therapies can work against each other. Please don't buy into the idea that you "come from a cancer family". The mind is a powerful thing, and I think what oftentimes is called hereditary is simply the idea being placed in one's head, which can most certainly cause the disease. How could it not?

== Please don't buy into the idea that you "come from a cancer family". The mind is a powerful thing ==

Oh I haven't bought into that idea, Earthmama, and I KNOW the mind is a powerful thing ~ I haven't had a cold/flu in 40 years and few before that!! When I'm asked why, I tell folks it's 'cause I rarely eat fruits and veggies! -G- This of course makes me wonder WHY I'm so healthy! Friends who are physicians tell me that I'm proof that we all don't need the same things for health.
