If you have any Connviense Stores or Motels owned by Asian Indians near you, they love ducks especially Muscovies. Put some ducks in a cage and make the rounds of places where you might find Asain Indians. Make sure you price them with a little room to chip the price because they like to Bargin. Be sure to ask them if they know any one else that might like ducks. I use to sell many Muscovy ducks this way.

What type of Markets were you selling at in Maryland? What kind of ducks do you rasise?

Hi Lexi. We have a good market in Shepherdsville, just south of Louisville. Ducks sell highest there. Ducklings are $5.00 at least and grown ducks are at least $10-15.00. $25.00 for a pair of same breed is common in spring. If you are south of Lexington, then it might not be too far if you have a truck full to come down with. We have a special corner of the flea market for all birds and rabbits, no goats. Goats go thru the auction at 12:00. Lexington is 2 hours north for us, and Shepherdsville is about 30 minutes north. It's called Bullet County Stock Yards. You might check for Stock Yard flea markets in your area. This time of year is no good to sell poultry at all. Wait till spring. March 1st. The earliest ducks and chicks get the most money, then everyone seems to have enough allready. Guineas sell high here too. Allot of people shop there for "fresh food". They feel the ducks or rabbits. Welcome to Kentucky! I live by Rineyville.

I second what Cindy said. I've sold some of my hens and roosters at the farmers' market (stock yards) and it's always fun to browse.

Welcome to Kentucky!I'm in Garrard Co.,just south of Lexington. There's a flea market in Stanford that people sell chicks and ducks at,also there's a huge Amish auction every year in May that you can buy or sell any kind of livestock, outside of Springfield.Advertise in the local newspaper,I've seen all kinds of livestock for sell, especially in the counties surrounding Lexington.

hey, i can't begin to thank everyone for their help. I have tried the stock markets in this area, went to Lee city last night. I would love to wait till spring but as of now i have 175 extra, and that is just this year. oh yes, they are muscoveys. we use them for bug control. they really do a great job. when we arrived here, it was over-run with bugs, and as i didn't want to bring in more insectide than had been used here so far the ducks worked great. I am so glad to meet all of you, will be in touch. LEXI

Well, hi- Lee City narrows it down to my neck of the woods!Try the Mennonite community over at Crockett, or the Amish community up at Flemingsburg for contacts, present and future.

Hubbie is president of Morgan CO Farmers Mkt.Want to sell there in the spring?

Our Ag extension agent would help you find markets, I'm sure. Advertise in the Morgan Co. Mailer,as well. It's free. Email me for more info on above, and welcome to the area!
