Topic Description: Over the past five years the Internet has touched or effected nearly everyone’s life in the business community. As professional information managers, this discussion will focus on the elements that the Internet has touched, changed or effected in the daily routine of records manager and other information management professionals.This topic will examine the effects of the Internet from the broadest perspective to the specific in the daily routines of each records and information management professional. A brief review of records management software will be included as it pertains to the Internet.
Speaker Information: Juan Lacey is the Records Manager for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) with more than 1200 local union offices throughout the United States and Canada. He has been with IBEW for 15 years where he is guiding his employer from a microfilm-document-based information system to an electronic-document-based information system.
Juan has served in ARMA at various levels. Among those positions, he is a past Greater Washington, DC (GWDC) ARMA Chapter President and a former ISG industry leader. He is currently serving as the GWDC chapter web master and seminar committee chairperson and he writes a monthly column in the ARMAWorks called "Casting the Web."
