Wow, Steve, I went thru the exact same discovery this time last year and I've been glad for it ever since. I think that Material is a name that Bill Laswell (who produces both albums, and tons of other "stuff")and several artists follow under when doing a particular album. Other names you can find are Axiom, Praxis, and good ol' Bill Laswell himself. I hope you are enjoying what you have- I suggest Axiom Dub! Take care! -A-

Material started off as a jazz/funk fusion project with Michael Beinhorn and another guy whose name I can't remember, up until a few years ago when it just became a name for Laswell to release some of his projects under.

U must get hold of 'The Third Power' Includes P-funk/PArliamnet members Like Fred Wesley, Bootsy etc... and also from Last Poets I think. The album is one of the best CDs I own... Smooth and soft horn section in the back, just filling the soundimage so tight and the bassline, rythmics and vocals (spoken geographics if u like)...cant describe...itīs a "must listen 2" and Uīll go get it :)

My question then is....: Does it excist more like this album 'The Third Power' ?
