Bobby and cash

IMHO, Bobby has both money to spend, and players to spend it on. The current uncertainty over the transfer system is stopping him though. It would be foolish in the extreme to commit that money only to find out in 4 weeks time that we could have got all those players for nowt. We're not in the spend 60m category any more, so it's a bit of a cleft stick.

My feeling is most of YBR's frustration is because of this. Comments?

Possibly. I'm not prepared to write this season off yet but it's coming close. I'd at least like to see us going forward .... improving as a team before the end of the season. When should Bobby start building for next season?

Now.

Bear in mind that with the stadium repayments, we probably have no more income than last season.

I agree with Dunx, it would certainly be 'foolish in the extreme' to invest substantially in new players whilst the very future of the transfer system is uncertain and unclear. Leeds are taking a huge risk by paying so heavily for Ferdinand, if he develops as they hope he will, what is to stop him swapping Elland Road for the San Siro after a couple of seasons?

If Robson is convinced the club needs a 'clean out' he can't simply fill the side with cheap South American imports whilst waiting for the EU commission to reach its final verdict. That has to be frustrating. Meantime does anyone have any idea when a firm decision will be made?
