kumbh mela PAL footage

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Dirck Halstead : One Thread

I have 3 1/2 hours of very beautiful footage shot on PAL (small sony 3 chip) at the last kumbh mela in Hardwar, north India (billed as the largest gathering on earth: 100,000 naked, ash-covered saddhus; 12 million pilgrims). It's not enough for a documentary and the interview conditions weren't ideal, so I'd like to sell the stock footage. Any ideas on where and rates? (It's easy to convert to NTSC and the quality improves. Also, the next Kumbh mela's in Feb, so would be good for a pre-festival piece). About myself: I trained and worked with VNI (and met you, Dirck, briefly in their offices in Philly while they were imploding), but have mainly gone back to print, working as south asia correspondent for the london sunday telegraph, covering SAARC, Afghanistan & Iran. Any help on above gratefully rec'd. All the best, julian
