Actually a teletype would be a great web browsing client. Imagine automatically getting hardcopy of all the pages you went to .

My first computing experiences (in very late 70's) was playing original adventure on a "thermal terminal". It used thermal fax paper, had a keyboard, and an acoustic modem (110 or 300 baud, can't remember). It was very helpful to have 30 feet of past moves in Adventure! as well as hard copy of every directory listing, Unix "write" conversations with people, etc.
