Home To be Moved Available

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Hello all, I was just looking at one of my favorite websites, and I thought this might be of interest to someone. The Alabama Preservation society has a new listing for a Victorian house which is available free to anyone who can move it to a new site. It looks to be well cared for, so if anyone has an "in" with a house mover, this might be your chance. The site is at www.preserveala.org, and the house is in the South Central region- the McElvaine Property. Have a great week....

That looks like a great old house! My wife and I are looking for land in South Central Tennessee...we live in North Alabama now. That house would make a fabulous farmhouse! All of ouf friends and relatives would be saying...."Wait a minute....you guys we're poor (frugal by our standards) yesterday and today you have a mansion!!! One problem...it's just a little too far to be finacially feasable. I talked to a house moving service and they asked me if my last name was "GATES"?!?!?

Oh well...we'll keep looking!
