The resort hotels all along the strip are going to have the largest fireworks display ever (which would be saying a lot).

so, after that, I'll probably just watch the firefighters put out errant fires and paramedics carry away the injured.

Staying at home, reading, drinking, maybe (maybe!) getting a phone call at midnight from the Inamorata.

Helping to host a party. I guess it will be ok, but I am not very hopeful. It will mostly *not* be my friends (mostly, my boyfriends) and I am back on stupid antibiotics so I won't be drinking for the next fortnight. I am a little grumpy about that and may just duck out after the new year and meditate on the future. or something.

By the way, most people who live in cities are wise, not pathetic, to not have cars. My theory is, you can mostly rent them if you need to...think about that next time. That said, its a mark of american adulthood, buying ones first used car and having to deal with all the different shitty things involved with that.

happy new year, sweetie!

New Year's Eve is the last night of the dance camp I'm going to between the holidays: SwingOut NorthWest. So I'll be dancing till dawn, if I have enough stamina!

The band will be good: George Gee and his Jump, Jive and Wailers.

I have no plans yet! ARGH! I'm so bitter about that. And I can't do anything too far away or too crazy, 'cos I'm driving with my parents to Ohio (from West Virginia, so not too far) on New Year's Day. *sigh*

I'll be playing guitar for soul diva Edna Love at the Blue Lamp, one of the city's greatest dives, at 561 Geary Street. It's sure to be a wacky and wild night. Interestingly, the more you drink, the easier it gets to play guitar. Try it sometime.

Last year I stayed home, and I still hate myself for it.
