A question on Such Sweet Sorrowgreenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread |
I have a question, the episode Such Sweet Sorrow (the one where Carol leaves to be with Doug) was that originally an 1 1/2 hour or 2 hour episode? I've seen it, but there is a scene that I keep missing and I was wondering if the networks cut it out during the reruns to make it fit the hour time slot? There is suppose to be a scene where Elizabeth screams a Malucci but when I watched the episode I don't remember it. I have read that it is a good scene and I was just wondering. Thank you

I don't know how long the episode was exactly, but I do know that it was over the hour slot ER has. Because of this, they have cut out a scene of Elizabeth yelling at Malucci like you said. :)

All ER episodes, except the pilot were one hour. TNT edits for time, but not NBC.

Not true, NBC does it too, though seldomly. When they reran Such Sweet Sorrow, they cut out the scene with Elizabeth and Dave, just like TNT did. :)

Mary's right--many of us were wondering what was going on during the rerun, since many of us loved loved loved that chewout scene. :) I don't think we ever heard why they did it, so we assumed it was done to allot for more commercials.

Actually, NBC's original airing of the episode ran about 1:01-1:02. it was a minute or two longer than normal just to fit the george clooney scenes in. because they were filmed so late, they didn't have a chance to edit anything else out. :-)

That's such a great scene, I wish it was still there! We need DVD's, LOL! I know I am obsessing over the matter, but think of how great it would be to have uncut episodes!

In the uk on sky and terestrial, we had a scene where she had a go at him but she wasn't screeming.
