Dear Anna Mae /

Maybe someone else can inform you about request lines to the Vatican.

I only know the Pope is not in the practice of praying for the public at large. He prays in general for his people, the Church, and for the whole of humanity. That is a goodly part of his calling, as it is of most Catholic clergy and religious.

You sound as if you need help. Do you realize the Blessed Sacrament is in every Catholic Church, daily in every parish and community? In the holy tabernacle waits the same Jesus Christ who died on the cross for our sins; a silent and all-knowing God. You have only to go on your knees before Him, and bring your urgent petition in FAITH. He hears and understands, better than you yourself, what it is you wish. Jesus is there.

This is likely all the Holy Father would advise you. PRAY! Forget about contacting the Pope. The Church never taught us to bring petitions to him in person. That is childish; be a faithful Catholic. Receive the sacraments, pray to God the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Say a novena or rosaries. The words of Jesus to those who asked His help were always: ''Go in peace; your FAITH has saved you.''

Jessica, Your intentions will be included in my daily rosaries. Please, repeat often (especially when you are troubled with worry) "My Jesus, I trust in Thee!" Jesus told us to "Fear not," for He is always with us. He wishes us to place our trust in Him. I am sure that the thought of upcoming surgery disturbs your peace. Please be mindful of the many souls in Purgatory awaiting their sweet release into heaven. Please offer up any sufferings you might endure (emotional or physical) for the poor souls, and for the conversion of sinners. A good confession and Holy Communion prior to your surgery should also fortify you spiritually. Be assured of my prayers. May God be with you. Pax Christi.
