Just wanted to confirm with you Doreen,my husband was sent the same notice at work(in Canada)For the guys to remove all the above products from their first aid supplies....teri

FYI guys, anything containing aspartame - that's diet just about anything - contains PPA. Don't touch the stuff myself. Try Stevia.

I knew aspartme was "evil", but I didn't know it had PPA. Thanks for that added info. On stevia, it's important to know that it's like 100 times sweeter than sugar, so don't put in a whole teaspoonful...you'd be rather disgusted!

Doreen, I just wanted to thank you. My son has a really bad cough that hasn't allowed him to sleep. (I usually let things run their course if I can) At the drug store, I was reading all the ingredients and this showed up on alot of them. One claimed no dyes, sugar, fillers, etc. Perfect I thought but this and aspitime were in it. It was for diabites. I read the articles but if I didn't read it here, I wouldn't have remembered it. Thanks again. (I got the Robitussin honey)

Glad it helped!!! I hope he gets better real soon.

I LIVE IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND BOUGHT DIMETAP FOR CHILDREN THIS PAST AUGUST WHEN I WAS IN CALIFORNIA VISITING MY PARENTS. HAVE COLD COMPANIES TAKED THE PPA OUT OF ANY MORE COLD REMIDIES? THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE THIRD WORLD USUALY SELLS WHAT THE U.S. WON'T BUY TO ITS UNEDUCATED PUBLIC. THIS KIND OF INFORMATION IS VERY IMPROTANT FOR US CITIZENS LIVING ABROAD. THANK YOU

I didn't know about all the other medications, but last year there was a big deal about removing all of the cough medicines with PPA. I really try to avoid OTC medications--hard to keep track of all those weird ingredients.

Sorry, hadn't read the date on the original post, but it is good to know about all those other medications.
