Barkeepers Friend took off rust stains, the one place I lived that had terrible water. There's another product I got at Big Lots that works good, but it's smelly and pretty caustic. All Out? or something like that.Make sure you've well ventilated ,with it.Harsh stuff.

Try a product called WORKS, a spray that should be readily available in the cleaning supplies dept. of your grocery store. Very good for cleaning rust & hard water stains & build-up.

Read / heard somewhere that Coke will remove stains in toilet bowls - pour in, let it sit (overnight?), and flush. Maybe you could try soaking a rag or two and placing them on the stains overnight.

Don't use The Works on porcelin tubs or sinks - it eats the glaze off of them. Been there - done that. Next time I'll read the directions on the bottle first.

Thanks to all for your answers.

Good save, Polly. I hadn't actually looked at the bottle, myself. I do know WORKS is great on stainless steel sinks and such as that, and it works good on our fiberglass tub & shower.

I've had good luck with stained surfaces by putting bleach-water soaked paper towels on the surface and letting it sit overnight.
