Ever encountered incomprehensible corporate rules and rituals?

Gee Whiz Al, do you mean that there is a different catagory than incomphrensible, goofy, worthless and just plain silly ? The trouble usually comes from some up tight individual who will sit there with the handbook and insist that everything is done by the book - to the letter. Corporate procedures don't seem to allow for any leeway to take care of situations that are not defined in the bloody damn book. If I keep on this will be a bond fide rant.

yes yes yes. black socks. we must wear black socks. and keep our shoes shiny. oh, and you must obtain a 'Food Handler's Permit', from the health department. and if your shirt is not pressed properly, we're sending you home. without pay... what's that you say? The military? Nope, I work for a large, corporate-owned, GROCERY STORE. I move large and small objects, across a hard, metal surface, in front of a glass screen, and it beeps. how complicated and tedious. :P and i must say, wearing the black socks DEFINITELY improves my speed and accuracy :P

I'm in retail management. I could write a book! Corporate offices are generally so out of touch with how things really work in the field that it would be laughable if it wasn't so pathetic!
