Basics

I was hoping someone would take a few minutes to refresh my memory. I took a photography course way back in high school. I would like to start developing my own B&W film again but can't remember the sequencing. developer - stop bath - fixer?? Could someone please tell me the basics again? I would really appreciate it. Also, I am really interested in producing high contrast and very sharp pictures. Could someone recommend a film/chemicals/ and print paper to achieve this result. Thank you for your assistance.

Yes, develop, stop, fix. Re high contrast, I don't know what format etc you plan to work on. Tech Pan or other document films should work. If you work in large formats, you could try lith film developed in lith developer. Or enlarge smaller formats onto lith film. Good luck, DJ.

I suggest getting a basic darkroom book. That way you have a reference handy when in the middle of things.
