I am curious to know if their is a specific air gap setting between the carbons and the normally open power contacts on Otis 6754 relays.

The armature de-energized air gaps for 6754 relays are as follows, 6754-CD coil is 5/16 6754-EB coil is 7/16 6754Y-CD or EB coil is 3/8 6830 is 17/32 This does not apply to the SF relay On the back of the relay panels there is a label which should give you the relay type and the coil type. Always keep your carbon contacts in the last notch in the contact holders, instead of moving one of them up and having uneven wipe go ahead and replace it with am new one. also the air gap adjustment screw under the armature is brass, dont ever replace a missing one with steel or the relay will not pull in. Justin, Jim Reed has provided you with a very good answer to your inquiry regarding "air gap", therefor I need do nothing further on the relay. Jim also appears to be a pilot. The GlassAir is a fine machine. vpk
