Need Battery door for Canon AL-1greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon FD : One Thread |
Can't seem to locate anyone who can repair this. Anyone have leads to find the part and know now to replace on my own? Thanks,

Sorry, I've also been on the lookout for a battery door. None available in Northern California. Was told to "keep plenty of tape on hand."

There are no doors availale. It was the most common problem with the AL-1. I understand that it was a limited production unit and parts are very scarce. I use a bracket from a flash mount to keep the door closed. I put a dab of silcon caulk on the bracket at the point where it makes contact with the battery door. This fix worked and has given me several more years of service from this unique Canon model.

You may wish to use a piece of wire and a small piece of rubber to keep the battery door closed. I have done this and continue to use the camera.
