Chinese Organizations in S.F.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : San Francisco History : One Thread

I am looking for some organizations that i could contact to get information on the Chinese imigration to California in the 1880's-1910 and if there are any museums/collections in the area that i might be able to get into, look at etc.

Thanks for anything you can give me!

Scott

The SF Public Library's History Room has a boatload of information on Chinese History. Also the Chinese Historical Society and Chinese Cultural Association can help you out.

Contact Melissa Szeto, Director of the Chinese Historical Society of America, at 415-391-1150, or at info@chsa.org

Good luck with your research!

Try this URL, at the bottom is an info about immigration to Angel Island: http://archaeology.parks.ca.gov/mc/mc14.htm

You may want to try to find more references on this old immigration station.

Keep us posted about outcome of your findings.
