Information on how to build a cider press

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Sometime ago there was an advertisement in "Countryside" magazine for Apple or Cider Presses. We have misplaced that issue and would very much like to see that ad. Thank you for any help you can give us. Sincerely, Alan Long ajl@harborside.com

Alan, do you want info on the article on "How to Make a Cider Press", or info on where to purchase one?

That was just the previous-to-last issue, wasn't it? I know I was just reading it the other night...great stuff -- this year I might have something to do with all those stinking apples...We've still got applesauce coming out of our ears!

Steves cider press plans were in Sep/Oct 2000 issue. I did a "cheapo" approach using a 5 gal bucket with holes drilled all around, a plywood disc and landscape timber, topped with my hydraulic jack and did it all in my shop doorframe. After I found the time , I built his design. Much nicer than "riggin" it in the doorway.
