Second half of the season and...........

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Where do we find ourselves? We have managed the most of the season with less than half a first in most games. Two or three south Americans trying to adjust to the English game, we have tried two unkown young players upfront and we have had at least three foreigners state that they want to leave. We have lost games we shouldn't have, we have won games we shouldn't have. We are sixth, we are getting better, we will have a full first team by May 27th. Except that the season ends a week before.

I don't want to get caught up in the leeds victory although it was a truly great result, but how many times have we been let down within a week or so? I am optimistic about the future, Bobby has developed a fighting spirit which has been missing over the last two or three years. The run in towards the end of the season is so much easier than the one we have just come from. Not far from second, champions league football is unlikley however UEFA is highly Probable.

Howay the lads.

I have to agree Syme, although we haven't yet set the world on fire, it seems like YBR is at least getting the kindling ready. I only see good things ahead (not counting the odd belly flop here and there). At the very least we will have an interesting run to the end of this season, and better things to come next season.
