homeschooling in Canada?

Hi,

A friend asked me if I would post here about homeschooling in Canada. Is anyone on the forum doing it? What are the laws like? How does she find out?

thanks, Sarah

Sarah -- the laws vary from province to province. Each province has it's own association. If you email me with the province she is in, I can send you any info I have (if I have any) on that province. In Saskatchewan it is the SHBE (Saskatchewan Home Based Educators). They're extremely helpful for new homeschoolers and 'wannabes'.

You can give her my email address if she wants to email privately any questions.

The best link for Canadian Homeschooling is http://www.flora.org/homeschool-ca/

This pretty much links you to all the provincial umbrella groups and community support groups. The Umbrella groups would supply the laws for each province.

I've homeschooled in Ontario and Saskatchewan. Sombra
