Why do I get the feeling that Abby is driven to drink after this episode?

-- Ellen (eedgert1@twcny.rr.com), February 01, 2001.

Thanks JLS! Ellen, I also thought of that when I read that. But hopefully Carter will help her out.

-- Cammie (rmaelhorn@home.com), February 01, 2001.

I hope that, instead of having her drink, TPTB show her tempted to drink, going to a meeting, and actually working through the problem, as she must have done before. IMHO, they have not used the AA storyline as well as they should. We saw Carter fall off the wagon just a few episodes ago; now let's see a 12-step person resist the temptation.

Let's hope LUKA helps her out, since he'll be all spiritual and "found" by then. Carter, hopefully, will be too busy babysitting :)

-- Carolina (Caroline_512@yahoo.com), February 01, 2001.

thanks JLS.. but nothing on Chen? i hope they don't put her on the backburner with dave..

Rena?? is that Carter's new relationship?? guess so. hmm....legal matters with kim....sounds interesting!!! can't wait for this epi. :-D

-- Jessie (sweetbebe0686@yahoo.com), February 01, 2001.

No, I predict it'll be something like, poor Abby is bummed about her ex-husband getting engaged, then Luka loses interest in her (or rather, loses interest in meaningless sex, due to being "found" again spiritually), Abby gets bummed out over the kidnapping incident and then bummed that Carter, whose advances she rebuffed, is now dating Miss 19-Year-Old Pedes Chickee, so *hic* she hits the bottle, just in time for a reformed Maggie to return and for Carter to dump his underaged chick and come to her rescue, Carter and Abby kiss, fade out on Season 7...

-- Ellen (eedgert1@twcny.rr.com), February 01, 2001.

"Reformed" Maggie? Do you mean cured? Is there a spoiler I missed?

-- Melinda (mross@value.net), February 01, 2001.

Ellen, I like your prediction. Thank God we're only going to see Carter and this young girl for 4-5 episodes.

-- Karen (kmmatran@ingr.com), February 01, 2001.

The storyline looks interesting. Especially the plot dealing with Abby and the kidnapped child. I do not see her turning to alcohol, however. Look at all that she has been through in the past five years and she hasn't apparently turned to it since then. She has been alcohol free for five years, which is a major thing overcoming her alcoholism. I think she realizes that and will put herself through more of a guilt-trip and anxiety hangover, rather than indulging her sorrows in a glass of bubbly. She has lasted through the divorce, work, her mother, and several other things. I believe that Abby is strong enough to push past the need of liquor, not.

As for Elizabeth, I am not entirely shocked at her retork to not stay on for bed rest. It seems rather Elizabeth-like to try to stay busy and such. Her concerns with Mark, the added stress, work, and the pregnancy might cause her to have certain complications. It is hard to foresee that, though. Right now, it is almost still up in the air.

As for Carter realizing the age of Rena, it was bound to happen sooner or later!! I think we already know how he might react to it, more than likely, he will consider the issue and push it aside. If he has feelings for her....well, at that point, likes her, he will pursue it. It will more than likely be for the best, though. :) Let's hope. Happiness is something that is not of great wealth to the citizens of the ER and it needs to be spread amongst them a bit.

The Kim and Kerry storline will be interesting also, I assume. The turmoil that will more than likely disolve from this incident could very well be the one that Kim said would be the *cliffhanger*. Who knows, though?? For once, Kerry almost seems overjoyed and happy, to a degree. The angst she will go through if she does lose Kim might be unbearable to say the least.

However, we must take into GREAT respect that we will not view this episode until late March, if not early April. Since sweeps are starting tonight, that gives us four new episodes in a row...running until February 22nd. Usually, the show takes a quick hyatis and we will not view a new episode for two to three weeks, more than likely. It is interesting to see spoilers this soon. Also, a quick note for JLS. I assume that you retrieve this information from Epnebelle at the deja alt.tv.er forums. Could you please give her credit when posting *spoilers* that are posted by her originally? We should give her much credit for relaying this information to us, when she does not have to initially. It is only the considerate thing to do. Otherwise, one might assume that you were the one who originally discovered and enlisted this information on episode #16 to begin with. :)

On my last post, in the sentence: "I believe that Abby is strong enough to push past the need of liquor, not." It was supposed to read, *I believe that Abby is strong enough to push past the need for liquor, not turn to it." :)

-- Abby (PrettyLittleDaisy@hotmail.com), February 01, 2001.

Um. I *am* EpneBelle. I use a different email here only because its the one I've always used on this forum, even before I started posting on the newsgroup. Most people know or have figured out that I'm the same person.

But thanks for the thought.

In regard to the alleged Kim/Kerry cliffhanger,ER was shooting episode # 14 ," A walk in the Woods", when Elizabeth Mitchell allegedly told Wanda that the episode she just shot would end with a cliffhanger of sort. Episode # 16 has not been shot, yet since it takes eight working days to shoot an episode.

-- Brenda (jckwfan@aol.com), February 01, 2001.

Episode #15, in fact, is not done shooting yet. They are filming a train wreck in Los Angeles all next week.

-- Ellen (eedgert1@twcny.rr.com), February 02, 2001.

Maybe not, but they're starting episode 16 next week as well.

Ellen, I like your predictions...since Rena is only sticking around for 4-5 episodes (hopefully this will not change...sorry, but Carter doesn't need another fling, he needs a stable, worthwhile relationship so that he can move on in his life, IMHO) that gives the writers at least 2 episodes (since there are usually 22 right?) to give us a nice fade out of a budding relationship w/ either Abby or Deb...from the preview it seems NBC want us to believe that Carter and Abby are headed for a relationship, but they also wanted us to believe that Mark would make a dramatic fall from 2000 some feet (re: Flight of Fancy), so who knows. Anyways, I think they might stick with the friendship idea w/ Carter and Deb, but who knows. As much as I'd like to see Carter and Abby together (after she's conveniently stepped out as his sponsor and there seems to be no hard feelings...), I do feel bad for Luka who will be left to broad over things w/out Abby as she dances w/ Carter. Though they did look good dancing :) As for drinking, I wouldn't be surprised if they went that route w/ her.

As for the Kerry/Kim thing, I wonder what legal difficulties there will be...will Kerry be in on something where she will have to admit to "being" with Kim?

And Elizabeth...how come EVERYONE has to return to work TOO EARLY?! Couldn't someone forbid her not to work if she's not well enough? PLEASE don't let there be a problem w/ the pregnancy. Mark and Elizabeth have their share of angst.

-- Elaine (mrsclooney78@hotmail.com), February 02, 2001.

I'm sorry JLS!! I should have realized that. I matched the e-mail you used her to the one at the alt.tv.er boards. Sorry for the mistake. :) You do a nice thing with presenting us with information on upcoming episodes. Thanks bunches!

-- Abby (PrettyLittleDaisy@hotmail.com), February 02, 2001.

Someone above wondered what Kim's legal troubles will be. Maybe she needs an alibi? ("Can anyone verify that you were home all night?") It would be kind of nice if someone had fun legal problems, unlike a malpractice suit or divorce/custody issues, like if Kim's a suspected jewel thief or something. :-)

-- Bonny (bonnyv@netzero.net), February 02, 2001.

Several episodes back, didn't Kim steal a social security number from a dead person to help someone else out or something to that effect? I didn't see the episode but heard about it. Anyway, I understand that Kerry, being the stickler for rules and all, said something like "I don't want to know about it". Maybe Kim is found out and Kerry is put in a bad position because she knew about it but didn't do anything. Just a thought. I can't think of anything else that would cause Kim legal problems, other than something we haven't seen any evidence of yet.
