greenspun.com : LUSENET : Elevator Problem Discussion : One Thread

I just found this site and I think it's great. I can't believe it took me so long to find it. Obviously, I've used the wrong search engines in the past. The reason I'm posting this message is to offer any help I can provide, if it isn't too late. I worked for an elevator manufacturer that is now bankrupt leaving many holding the bag, so to speak. This may have been a blessing to many companies for the modernization revenue it created. On the other hand, many companies continue to service the equipment as it was installed. Which ever the case, if you're in need then maybe I can help. I have programming software, tools, and the programs for the units in the field.

I know I clicked on contribute an answer, and this is not an answer, but a question. I am trying to find a list of regular maintenance items that should be performed on an Esco Elevator. The unit is # is 8175 and it is a single piston unit. This is all I know about the unit. The reason I am looking for this information is to determine weather my Full Service Contract should cover the "packing that is leaking". What is packing, where is it located, what is leaking from it, and why did the maintenance company not find it during the regularly scheduled maintenace? If someone can help me please contact me as soon as possible. You may e-mail me or call me at work at 717-394-3374 ext. 226. Thank you very much.
