I have noticed in many photos, SAL units in the split image SCL paint several years after the merger. Did any SAL & ACL units go unchanged/unpainted for any long period after the merger?

Yes,they did.I don't know for how long.I am sure that someone kept up with that.SAL unit ????? was the last to get SCL name and numbers.
